Adding Ring Links

Goldlinks
After submitting your site to O'SHEA you need to add the appropriate links to your page. Please Place the links on your home page and/or WebRings link Page.

Feel free to use any of the graphics on this page to dress up the links. You should also have at least a Next and a Previous link (otherwise the ring doesn't work very well). You can use the graphics found on this page or create your own.

Remember that these links must be in place before your site will actually be added to the Ring.

The Ring Master FAQ has lots of examples of HTML and Java code that you can use to add your site to this Ring.

Here are a couple of examples of how to link your site into O'SHEA

These code fragments must appear in your designated homepage. You can make the code invisible by placing after the code fragment. You may place the code on your webrings page if it is seperate from your home page. The fragment checker will check only your designated home page for the code and if not available on the homepage will move your site to the queue for deletion.

To use this HTML on your web page, you must replace "id=1" by the ID number assigned to your site. For example, if your site ID is 15, then you would replace "id=1" by "id=15". Do not change "ring=oshea" ("potogold" is the Ring ID for this Ring). And your graphics would probably be somewhere other than in "/icons".

Please note that the Next, Next 5, Skip Next, Skip Previous and Previous links will not work correctly until your site has been added to the Ring. This is normal. In fact, if these links do appear to work correctly while your site is still in the queue, then you probably didn't change "id=1" to your own site ID!

This is the "standard" way to implement the HTML links. In fact, this is the same code fragment that will be emailed to you after you add your site to the queue. The copy that will be emailed to you will have your site ID already added.

Select the Graphics and copy them to your home directory for use or edit the code to refer to http://www.potgold.com/images/xxxxxxx where xxxxxx is the name of the graphic figure.

Your Site Name

Skip Previous Previous Next Skip Next Random Next 5 List Sites

And this is what it looks like:

Your Site Name
A Member of POTS OF GOLD
Skip Previous Previous Next Skip Next Random Next 5 List Sites

Here is a minimal listing example. There are only 3 links: one to the Ring home page, one to the previous site in the ring, and one to the next site in the Ring (these are the 3 links that must be on your page). And it's all done with graphics. Select the Graphics and copy them to your home directory for use or edit the code to refer to http://www.potgold.com/images/xxxxxxx where xxxxxx is the name of the graphic figure.
