| Dad worked in the sawmill in Sandpoint until they shut it down and the only thing left was WPA . Although we were poor no one told us so it was just a way of life . We were all born in Sandpoint and I left when I was 17 and got married . We were married in Coeur D' Alene, Idaho and lived in Spokane, Washington a couple of years. Then we moved to Portland ,Oregon and worked in the shipyards . My husband spent about 3 years in the Army serving in the South Pacific . Mom moved down here to Cottage Grove in 1943 . When the war ended we moved here too and have been here since . I have 4 Children, 3 boys and 1 girl . Also have4 grandchildren and 5 steps . Also have 5 great grandchildren |
